I hope I am not reaching out to you too late, but I only found out about this a few moments ago. And, but of course I want to share it with you!!!
Walks are the best part of a Border’s life. But walks can become even more adventurous for both Borders and their owners, when there is a massive ground of Borders gathering together for a mass walk.
There are so many ‘best’ things about these group walks. The dogs socialise. The owners socialise, and often find it a great opportunity to find out that their dog is not at all a ‘problem’ dog, but simply shares the same breed traits as every other Border.
But the one thing that makes Border owners want to take part in these group walk is the fact that they are often organised for charity.
This is the case of the Facebook group Essex Border Terrier Owners Group, which every year organises a number of events to support the wonderful job done by the Border Terrier Welfare.
And that’s exactly what’s going to happen on Sunday 7 October 2018, when the group is going to meet in Wat Tyler Country Park, Essex, for a couple of hours walk, socialising, entertainment for dogs and humans alike, and to establish friendships which are often for life.
So, pencil this in your Border’s calendar. If you leave in Essex or nearby, Wat Tyler Country Park is of easy reach through the M25.
As ever, Martin, organiser of the group, would appreciate it if you could confirm whether you are going. If you click on the above picture, it will take you to the Facebook event page, where you will be able to let Martin know whether you are going to attend as a definite or a maybe.
Indy has only been to a group walk organised by the BT Posse a few years ago, but we still remember it dearly, and kept in touch with so many different Borders and their owners.
The news is that we may be able to attend too. So, if you want to meet up my legendary Mr Indy, come along for a shake of paws (provided your ‘paw’ hides a treat, of course).
See you all there!!!
